Hi guys,
If you had your pick, would you rather go on a seabass trip or a bluefish trip in early October?
I have a wedding in Spring Lake, and we are looking for a guy's activity on Friday before the rehearsal dinner. It will be about 18 guys, and most of them have never caught a thing in their life. I have two boats in mind, one offers a seabass bottom trip and the other one is a bluefish trip. Not looking to charter the whole boat out, and we would be using the boat's rental gear so that is a factor too.
We're not looking to keep many (or any) fish at all, so my main concern for these guys is helping them catch something. I love the fight of a Blue and past reports last October look very promising, but I am worried that not everyone would be able to catch one. Bottom fishing to me seems a little easier for a beginner, but we went out on a seabass trip a few summers ago out of Cape May and it was a total bust.
Sorry for being long winded, just wanted to see if you guys have an opinion and know of any boats in mind. Thanks for your help.
