The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has announced that the start of fall stocking of trout has been postponed from Oct. 5 to the following Tuesday, October 12.
This change is necessary due to high stream temperatures which are currently still 14 to 18 degrees warmer than the 52 degree hatchery water. Biologists have decided it would be too risky to proceed with next week's stocking even factoring in the rain and cooler weather predicted for the coming days.
