I guess I am a more traditionalist.  I still enjoy doing things in the old way.  Hand tied or hand made lures I find to be more to my style of fishing.  New age stuff is great and I do use some of them from time to time but I always find myself going back and sitting at the desk tying flies, teasers and rigs.

That is just me.

I fully agree that there could be no better feeling than catching a fish on something you made yourself.   Soon enough I will find that out for myself.

 whs .....

sportsmen center is very close to me. They are big with the fly stuff but their inventory has declined of recent...meaning they're not stocking like they used to

That's a shame.  I guess one reason Betty & Nicks handles a lot of stuff is that there are a lot of guys in the area that tie their own stuff as some of the big time tiers live in and around the area as well.  One comes to mind and that is Bob Popovich.  Truly a master at the bench.

Kmart has a better selection than the sportsmen center. went in there a couple weeks ago with a couple 100 to spend on Jigs.. and stuff.  they had nothing.  Harry's for us has a better selection and their prices are fare.
