out of Sayreville this morning with Blood Vessel(Ken)on his boat around 7:30 with his wife Hon,Erik and myself on board.got around the Hook and made a short stop at the clam beds and made a short try jigging but not really marking much, headed south and found the birds working and started tossing the Avas, only Stripers caught were the big ones with yellow eyes and no stripes.worked the area for awhile with the marks but the birds disappeared.went to plan B having a bushel and a half of fresh clams anchored and spent the morning bottom fishing with lots of action, only keeping the really larger seabass and actually tossing back keeper size seabasss, also had porgies mixed in.pulled up around 12:30 when we ran out of clams, left them biting but no more bait.talked to Rick (Still Running)who was just heading out as we were calling it a day and wished him luck.we had about 20 Seabass we kept.great morning of fishing on a beautiful day,lot of boats out there today.no pics, got out there and batteries dead on the camera.
