Pilot - Search for stirpes 10-11
« on: October 11, 2010, 07:00:30 PM »
Fished with my brother Jay and bro-in-law Roger.  Got an early jump and headed back to the beds looking for a repeat of Saturday.  Dredger worked his turf.  Clammed on the hook for 1/2 hr. One doggie.  No more marks, no touches.   Headed due south.  Shopped in unfamiliar territory.  Picked the bottom.  Only thing coming up were fluke, fluke and more fluke rgmn. Three of us hooked up at the same time. Put me in a time warp and dial it back two months. Those pups chewed on just about anything. Wonder if they hold there during the season ??? Returned of course!  Moved back north near the LB rocks searching for some sea biscuits or tog.  Found the mother load of spikes rgmn  All returned.  Biggest 13.5"  Had easily 40 fish amongst 3 of us in 45 min.  Any form of gulp.... pink, chartruese 3 4" minnow, crab, shrimp, artificial worm.  DROP and REEL.  No Keeps but a bunch of fun.   14.5" Pogie on clam..  size of good dinner plate.  Roger is going to wuff it down for grub.   Headed back to the SHR.  Dropped the lead and tied off for about another 45 mins.  A couple of pogies, bergalls and a couple of short sea bass.

Not a single look from the target fish.  No bluefish.  Lots of bait but minimal bird action.  We had action all day and that makes it all worth it!

Till next time t^

Gulps are a super bait nice day out
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Great effort on the striped ones Jeff.  t^

Fluke seem to be lining the bottom.  :P
