Ya had to be there to see it...
« on: October 19, 2010, 12:00:34 AM »
Well the day was a skunk Nada but snappers all day.  BUT, the late afternoon action was something to be hold.  So they tell me.  I was going to leave but a friend talked me into sticking around till at least 2:30 so I did.  In fact I waited till 3:45 with nothing to show for it.  The blitz did not start at Gillkins yet.

But if you look up the beach toward Midway beach and he Top of the mast there were guys lined up all over the place.  You could see the boats starting to gather and the fish attacking a hugh amount of bait.  I left like I said when all the action was about 1/8 of a mile away and closing.

Reluctantly I left aired up and sulked home.  I stopped at Wawa on the wqay home to pick up milk and talked to 2 guys and told them about the action and they told me that his wife just called and said that she is looking at some really hot action in Lavellette tons of buggies on the beach wioth guys pulling in fish like there was no tomorrow.  Well that really made me feel even better, NOT.

I proceeded to go on my way and vowed to return tomorrow.  I will be out there somewhere at 2:30 where I left off.  The early morning bite never materialized but the evening one was out of sight.  The only fish I heard weighed was a 44lber caught somewhere between Lavellette and Gillikens.

If you see me out there tomorrow just leave me be.  I will be concentrating on visualizing my big bass.

Happy Catching

Paul

PS: almost all that I heard caught were on artifical lures.  Most were poppers of different types but definatly top water lures were the key.

Good try Paul.  We saw the water boiling on Sunday out by the boats, but they never came near the surf guys.  Lotsa bait, what looked like mullet in the wash.

Catch 'em up!  t^

I will be out there later today to get into some of the action.  I heard it was mostly big blues with bass mixed in.  I guess clams Mullet and poppers will be the ticket tonight.
