Minor earthquake reported in Atlantic off New Jersey

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS • November 30, 2010

A minor, underwater earthquake was reported off New Jersey Tuesday.

Police say there are no reports of injuries or damage.

A geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey says the tremor happened about 122 miles east/southeast of New York City about 10:45 a.m.

He said it was a magnitude 3.9, which is considered very minor, especially because it occurred in the Atlantic Ocean. It was felt, however, along the New Jersey and Long Island coasts.

Southampton, N.Y., police Sgt. Andrew Ficurilli said the police station shook for a few seconds.

He said "two or three" calls came in from town residents wondering what had happened.

Thanks for the Info.
Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
