Best Prices For Gulp / Gulp Alive?
« on: July 16, 2007, 04:57:15 PM »
Who has the best prices on Gulp products? Especially the new Gulp Alive product line. Finally Berkley came out with a resealable container!

--Thanks!

Received an email this morning from Rich-the store manager of Har-Lee rod in Jersey City. He said they just ordered the GULP Alive and prices should be something along the lines of;

Small container (12.5 ounces with the equivalent of 3 packs of GULP) for @ $19.99 and the large container (equal to 6 packs) for @$39.99.

He ordered the swimming minnows, shrimp and squids in all the popular colors.

Id rather buy packs single for 6-7 bucks instead of having to pay 20 bucks for a container. But if you were to divide that 19.99 up it is about 6.70 a pack which isnt that bad.

Reason I'll probably pick up a container or 2 is because I had several packs that I opened at the end of last season but didn't use all the GULPs up and when I went to use them this season they seemed to have dried up (even though I made sure the package was fuilly resealed).

Seems to me that one $20 investment might save me some $$ over the long haul.

I caught a 6lber on it 2 weeks ago.

Same piece of gulp must have caught me 25 fish (tail was missing after 1st 2). 2 of my 3 Keepers that day were on same piece.

You're missing out Pops Soul.

It is GOOOOOD stuff.

Wait until you try the sandworms for weaks when they come in (no reason to waste $$ on live ones with gulp sand worms).

I have had success using the shrimp, grub (which is what I have been using lately) the jerk bait and worms (especially on the weakies).

They have peanutbunker sized pogies which I have not used yet but will try eventually ( I have a bag)

I think color is more important then the physical style of the gulp. maybe scent, but I am not sure if the scent on gulp is different for the different styles.

Smells the same to me ;)

mboy,

You are correct. There is no difference in the smell or taste of the various shapes of Gulp (although I'm not sure who volunteered to taste them). :P

BTW, how come when I wrote the name of the large retailer that is a nickname for Richard, it automatically changed in the post to "Robert's"?  See above.   ???

Just got back from "Richard's".  The smaller tubs of Gulp Alive were $19.99, and $39.99 for the bigger one's.

Seems like everyone is selling them for the same price.
