Tuna Jigging combo
« on: January 25, 2011, 09:22:36 PM »
Being that Capt Richie has a new ride this year. I figured that I might get out at least few times on it. I am gonna treat myself to a new Tuna jigging combo. Was looking at the new Daiwa hyper or black gold. But not positive on what pole to match it with. Trying to keep this combo close to a few hundred bucks. What do ya think?

The Shimano Trevalas are very popular ($120-$220).  Hotrod, Capt. Carl, Jeff and I all used them on our trip last year.

I haven't used either of these, but I've heard good things about the Daiwa Saltists (around $120) and the Quantum Boca rods ($70-$170) as well.

Good luck in your choice! t^

I was considering the Saltist as the combo, and also thought about the trevala.

                   Thanks, Bill

Your right! But you know how it goes. What would the Mrs. think when I'm not buying more gear. She'll think somethings wrong with me and try to drag me off to some chick show in the city and spend my money anyway! 5hrug

Then again I could put the money towards a new fish finder for my boat.
