NC Striper Report
« on: February 15, 2011, 10:46:13 AM »
I had my brother (Allen) down for the weekend who works for Big Bear Products that manufactures the "Swim Whizz" lures.  We fished on Friday and Saturday out of OI.  Friday was a bust with strong NE winds and an unexpected rain storm that produced hail, rain and snow. (good job weather man)  Saturday started out with a better forcast and off we went North to the memorial tower.  Fished the area hard for a few hours with some great bait marks, but no stripers.  Worked our way down the three mile hoping to run into some fish inside the fence.  Our first bite did not come until around 3pm which took a Chart/Red Head "Swim Whizz" about 5 miles north of the Sea Bouy.  My brother's first "Rockfish" was a 38 lb. NC citation.  Then it was "game on" the bite we had been waiting for all day, fished the area until 5pm boated seven more stripers to send my brother back to Michigan with a cooler full of Rockfish!  Not making this up either ALL fish came on the "Swim Whizz" and yes we had other lures in the water.... Tandem Rigs, Mojos and even a stretch.  "Swim Whizz Lures" can be purchased at NJSWF tackle shop.  Purchase yours today and start catching trophy "Rockfish"!

Nice report. Patience pays off. You waited out the slack time and stayed around for the bite.  t^

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

The "Swim Whizz" putting it to the Striped Bass population in NC. Man I love this lure.

Guys:

I've been testing this lure for sometime now and if your into catching striper this is a must have in your "Striper Arsenal"

Yes, we have been working with company manufacturing the Swim Whizz for saltwater use.   Same design, just new hardware for the saltwater.  We've had some great success with them this past striper season.
