My first trip on the Fish Monger was with Captain Wayne at the helm and The very helpful mate Bruce. (Capt.Jerry is still running another boat in Delaware) The target species was Cod.

We pulled out of the Marina at 6am with myself and 5 other hardcore fishermen who frequent the Monger often. The weather was cold and the wind was blowing stronger than predicted. Capt.Wayne took us south and several miles offshore about 45 min ride.

Bruce the mate quickly rigged everyones rods on the trip up and prepped the bait. After anchoring on the first piece, the Cod started coming up in less then a minute. When the action slowed Wayne made a few quick wiggles and more Cod, Conger Eels and a couple of dogfish came up.

Wayne dropped anchor on several more spots and more fish were caught including Tog. Anchoring soon became tough with the conditions with the tide so we power drifted over the spots for the rest of the trip. This produced several Cod, Tog with keepers and shorts coming over the rail. Even a fat keeper winter Flounder came up and more Conger eels and Doggies.

Capt Wayne spared no expense to make sure we had a good day he covered miles of ocean and stopped at 8 to 12 spots making several moves on each spot. We made it back to the marina around 6:30pm. Thats 12 1/2 hours on the boat! The crew did a great job cleaning and bagging our catch.

We must of caught at least 60 Cod and 15 to 20 Tog,  Also 1 Winter Flounder and a half dozen Conger Eels. I don't have an exact count on the keepers but I believe we each took home 4 Cod each with some Tog mixed in. t^

A great trip with some great fishermen. I would not hesitate to book another trip on the Fish Monger. t^ t^

Nice report and catch Eddie. The Monger certainly does put in the time on the water to make each trip memorable.  t^

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
