Bomber Bedonk-a-Donk SW lures
« on: April 04, 2011, 11:53:06 AM »
Anyone here familiar with them? Yea or Nay. Any particular pattern or pitch? Got a lead on 20 of them for $4 instead of $6, but still don't want to waste money if i can't fish them out of the box. Any response would be helpful. Thanks.

Used and caught some but the hooks seem to be a little light for the briny.

I think they are the old Heddon Spittin' Image baits, altered slightly, and rebranded under the Bomber name.  Pradco did this with several of their most popular lures (i.e. the Cordell Pencil Popper is now a Bomber, as well as the old Rebel Windcheater).

It is essentially a spook type lure, although it has more of a sliding action than a true spook.  The old Spittin' Image baits were very easy to "walk the dog" with.  I have caught both largemouth and schoolie stripers on them.

As sealife said, you may need to change out the hardware on them.

Tossed one around yesterday to see it's action. It will work I'm sure. Casts well and easy to work. I believe I have the low pitch. I would only use this one with light action rods and fairly light line in the back bays. Because of this the hooks seem fine to me.

The sinking model in bunker pattern is deadly when the bass are keyed in on peanut bunker.

I replace the trebles they come with with either Owner or VMC trebles of the same size.
