Had the Greg Vongas Charter along with an All Star Cast, Reel Ron, Stelly, Bruce, Capt Jr (Out on a Limb) and Cool hand Al Rounded out the crew.
Headed out blackfishing and when we broke the inlet we we greeted by a Stiff Ne wind and some bouncy seas... Thought about turning around but we been fishing down to the south so the ride wasnt bad and was hoping it would lay down a bit.
Unlike the last couple trips Blackfishing was off for whatever reason? Typical spring time frustration cold current or something. Fished two diffrent area that had good life (Lots of shorts with Keepers) and could barley lose a bait. Get a Couple bites when ya a stopped and that would be it... few fish off each spot. Few were nice fish 2 over 8lbs but not enough...
Few place we did get bites it was mostly shorts...Bounced around all day looking for a bite but never got it going.
Stopped at a inshore shallow spot with the outgoing tide in the after noon and we picked a few keepers there to end the day.
By days end we wound up with 19 Keeper Blackfish to 8lbs + and 4 Keeper cod.
Slow day! Greg and Crew was great as always just wish the fishing was better but the guys fished hard and we managed to put a few nice ones in the cooler. Ocean layed down to nothing which was a plus.
