Was able to get out on our annual tog'n trip for Good Friday down on the Mary M. Small charter of 8 with RazzleMcWrongRestopDazzle filling in for the new mommy.
Wasn't expecting it to be that cold or rough...guess my mind wasn't in the game and out of practice. Luckily I did have my old bronco neoprene jacket in the truck so that kept me warm and dry. Tough bite overall with just some flurries of action. Had to be in a "hole" to get the bites and when we did, we did pull out some nice fish as well as a decent amount of shorts. Capt Sam and crew did their jobs well and tried to get us over the most productive bottom they could.
Pretty sure we averaged a catch of 3 keepers per person. I put three into the cooler and Mick added 4. I ended the day with the heaviest fish onboard beating out a longer fish caught by Cathy that I swore was going to take the top fish honors. Mine edged her's out and had the boga down around 9#.
Was good to get out and drown a few crabs and see some familiar faces. Did take a lil beating as I definetely did not have my sea legs. Proud I didn't even crave a cigarette either
