So if i already registered with noaa, do I still need to reg. with nj. or is it no longer valid to fish nj waters like in Raritain Bay.
This is starting to get a little tricky following these updates.
Md. did their own registry too. Thanks for any clarification.

Quadruplecccc, you will still need to register.

I already signed up for the federal registry; do I still need to register in NJ?

Yes.  All anglers and for-hire vessel owners and operators must register with the NJSRRP in 2011.  New Jersey will provide a complete dataset to the National Marine Fisheries Service to establish and maintain a list of exemptions from the federal saltwater angler registration program.

This quote is directly from the NJDEP registration site.

Also, if you possess a HMS (tuna) permit, you still have to register in NJ.

Be sure to print out your NJ Saltwater Registry cards! It seems like this will be the permanent copy. I don't think they will be sending us a copy like NOAA did for the federal registry. If you didn't print it out when you registered, you can go back in and reprint it without re-registering. Just a heads up!
