Reco me a seine net please
« on: July 24, 2007, 04:22:05 PM »
Something cheap & easy for me and either my son or fishinfool to seine some spearing, etc for fun and for bait.

Any good seining places in keyport area, close to my boat?

Thanks.

I looked for deals on seine nets and not a lot of people selling them used anywhere. I got a Frabil 15' for $20 online.

When I go out of Keyport, I seine right over at the beach next to the ramp. Last couple times I had more spearing than I knew what to do with. NOt one killie.

Ordered an 8 x4 from ebay today for $20 delivered just to start out with.

How far out do you have to go by keyport ramp to seine them?

How long does it usually take to load up?

Any recos on poles to use?

Thanks.

I do it right next to the ramp...the little beach. With a smaler net, you'd want to corral then right against the wall or shore.

I'm also going to check out a couple little inlets around town. The one right behind Keyport Fishery might produce.

That always worked for me.  That creek was always the go to spot for killies.

stay close to the beach and you will load up fast ,when I get killies it only takes one or two pass's by myself ,try and throww some bread crumbs in the water or something small they can eat then wait a couple min. and go get them
