« on: May 20, 2011, 09:00:30 PM »
Where can I net them? I am tight on money this year and running all over the bay will kill me with the cost of gas.  So can I net them in the river somewhere. Out of atlantic highlands municiple marina.  Thanks. Going out tomm afternoon untill sunday night.  Looking for the big ones....LOL

Thanks guys. They were not there last week. I don't remember them being there last year either. I will check there first then thinking of going into the river.

So I was out sat night and very early sun. No bunker in the marina . ran into the nav. all the way to the hospital without marking or seeing. i was passed by one boat and then at the hosp. there was one there searching. the first boat there had tons of stickers/Sponsered? and knew what they were doing. They were netting in 5 feet of water that had no marks at all. I was right next to them and could not figure out how they were finding them. with in 20 minutes there were at least 10 boats in there. I threw a few times with no fish and had people waiting at the dock so high tailed it out of there. picked up 20 at twin towers for 3.50 each that he charged me 4$ each and we did not realize till we got out to the grounds that they were the unhealthiest looking fish in the world. They were all red and scales were all hanging off.......so pissed.   I need to learn about netting bunker. I throw the net well and when they are thick in shallow water I have no problem but what these guys were doing on sun morn was impressive.

netting them is the easy part, finding them can be a problem.
