I'm taking a summer class at Kean on monday and wednesday nights so this just gives me extra chances to fish. Got out of class and headed to the park and was fishing by 7:30. Before I even made my first cast I stabbed myself with the hook in my finger and it was gushing blood, okay a little dramatic but you get the picture. Casted out with one rod and turned my back to bait my other rod. I turn around to look for my bobber and its gone. I grab my rod and feel a nice fish on. I'm thinking its a bass and when I pull it in, to my surprise, it's a 20" channel catfish. Casted out with both rods and more of the small bullhead catfish that I caught last time I was there. Then I drop one of the rods and the reel breaks. Great. And soon there is a fish on it too. So here I am reeling this fish in the old fashioned way but manually wrapping the line around the spool. Luckily it was only a small bullhead. I caught another fish on the other rod and it was starting to get dark so I wrap things up and start to put my rod away and break the tip on the rod. Not exactly the best day, but the channel cat did save it.
