Fishguts 5/31 wreck trip
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:12:08 PM »
Well after a long off season it felt good to get back out on the wrecks. The prior reports from the BI area were of some slow fishing and thats what we found. A few spots barren and a few spots with a slow grind of a pick. Ed,Nick and Pat worked at it picking at seabass ,cod and out of season blackfish until the bite grind ed to halt. Around noon with now sign of a bite developing in our area we decide to call it a short day. The 3 anglers final total for the day 24 keeper seabass,2 keeper cod, 4 short cod, over 2 dozen out of season blackfish, and a couple dozen short seabass. The fishing felt much slower than the catch indicates. With more bait and fish moving in on the bottom it should only get better.Great weather and some great guys made for an enjoyable day.
