Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

Was that Saturday right at the tip of the hook?  I saw them there and the ship captain was laying on the horn like mad.

nosmly - scary - brings back a bad memory when I was a kid our boat stalled in front of a tanker in Kill Van Kull with no time and no room  for the ship to maneuver and I doubt he even saw us under his bow.  Boat started with less a 10 secs to spare.
I FISH therefore I am.

A prime reason you should get out of the way long before these big ships bare down on you. Instead of waiting for the last minute.

Exactly.  If I'm drifting a channel I start my engine pretty much at the sight of a ship coming out in the distance if I know my drift is keeping me in the channel.  This way if I have problem I have plenty of time to hail for help.
The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea.
