Weds bass bust AGAIN!!
« on: June 16, 2011, 07:26:24 PM »
Left ahmm around 1pm and headed south after hearing of acres of bunker by sri. I found bionic demons between the hook and highlands bridge and after working them for a bit it turned out to be a pod of bunker. They were heading south so I figured I would go with them. Soon many other boats did the same. Followed them down way past the rocks and my friends were catching 12 15lbers for what seemed like a really long time. I spent more time retieing rigs and driving. The bunker were swimming so fast for the south that they had waves and a wake. Threw the net once too to fill the well.  I left the pod and headed deep to a good spot and got nothing. headed back to the pod to find it dispersed. Headed deep and south. Nothing more south and got on bit pods but no bass. bounced all over as far as sri and finally headed back north. Stopped at a few spots and started catching what we thought were bass everytime but were slow lazy on top blues. Guess they were tired after feeding all day. Back at the marina way past sundown with nothing to show for the day but a bunch of livies to let loose in the marina.  Turning into a very expensive spring run.

Great effort. Seems the bass are still south of Manasquan. Hopefully they'll get up your way shortly.  t^

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
