06-16-2011 Shark/Bft report
« on: June 17, 2011, 10:14:37 AM »
Headed east with the crew of Kirk, Danny and Fred for a combo shark/bft trip. Got out to the spot and put out 2 sterling tackle spreader bars and green machine on a bird - 10 minutes later we were tight on the spreader bar - nice under fish in the box. Turned around and added a S.T. daisy chain to the mix and we were tight again - released. Missed one more while letting the lines out then came tight on a 3rd on the green machine bird combo - released him and decided to go sharking -3/4 on the BFT in about 25 minutes of total fishing time - all unders. Nice clean 68 degree water with tuna around so we set up to shark close by - non-stop blue shark action - after catching 6 or so we pulled the lines and waited for Mr. Mako to show but he never did. Had 8-10 blue sharks around the boat for hours - biting the motors, swim platform and everything else in the water. Got some cool underwater video -I think - left the camera on the boat. Pics and maybe video to follow. God Bless Our Troops!
