Fluka Brasi Update: 2011
« on: June 24, 2011, 02:17:52 PM »
Well, I haven't been posting much this year.. honestly, I was beset with so much bad JuJu last season with the boat,I was feeling a bit snakebit.. every time I'd post gleams of hope , things went sour.  rgmn  so when things started lookin up this spring, I kept my mouth shut for fear of upsetting the gods..  ::)  But Fluka went into the slip in Keansburg the last few days in April, and things have gone nice so far.. issues appear to have been bad fuel pickups in the tank.. At any rate.. we started off on the Bass, and did ok clamming/chunking.. no big girls, but several nice pulls on fish to the mid- 20's .. The last day of chunking the clam beds last month produced 2 keeper Fluke  on bunker , and we figured they where trying to tell us something  ;) We've been Fluking weekends/a few weekdays ever since, (except for a week away on a cruise)  and enjoying pretty brisk Fluking with a decent # of  keepers.. 5-10 most days.. Fished this past Thurs, Sat , Sun , Monday with various groups of buddies.. a highlight being my friend Jay  who brought down his  grandad Chuck, for Fathers Day.. and they ran into some hot action, and both scored nice fish to cap their trip.. Fished the R-bay Thursday, and had good action in the channels.. Including a nice 6lber.. Ran south of the Hook sun/mon/tues and fished rough bottoms in 40-50 ft.. Near constant action on short Fluke and C-bass.. with enough keepers mixed  to keep it interesting.. Including the odd knucklehead Seabiscuits, some Ling, a surprise Codfish, and a few real nice 4-6 # Flukes..  So hopefully the bad Juju is behind us...  :-X  and I promise to to keep my NJ family here better posted of further activities of Fluka  chrz  chrz  chrz

Good going Mark.  I know what you mean as this year the old beach buggie has had some issues but now she is back on the sand and we have been going out a bit more than earlier in he spring.

Great pictures Mark keep them coming.

Happy Catching
