Well another descent day on da brine... big thanx to my crew for another good showing... Also good to have Castaway Mike back on board....
report as written by my bow monkey....
Bobber, LT, Mike "Castaway" and I left AH around 6
swell in ocean (? why) slowed us a bit but started around 7
slow pick with an obvious new flood of fish that were 16-17.9"; hope their bigger brothers and sisters follow them in
area got crowded so we moved off by ourselves - good move. immediately banged out some keepers. Part-Time LT (he eats like Backdoor Billy, looks like 95# and sleeps like Sleeping Beauty) banged an 8+# and a 6+# back to back. Castaway Mike got the Dollar fish and was high hook (7 or
. Around 11 we had 22 keepers in the box.
THEN the tide turned.
And with it a current like we haven't seen in a long time. Mid Moons so
? why? I couldn't hold bottom with 10oz BT and Mike was using a 12oz sinker; paying it out the entire time. With the constant paying out came some extra snags. Hurts to lose a 10oz and an 8oz in back to back drifts OUCH.
Finished up around 3 (we had enough of that current although the South wind did HELP us by slowing down the drift; wind against) with 27 or 28 in the box......lost count.
Back to the dock and a fast four man clean up/fillet and we were out of there by 4:30
Nice day, good fun, nice fish and fillets.
