Had the Kevin Chapman Charter back aboard for what the ocean offered.
Looked for bass on the ride to the fluke grounds but we didnt see any activity.
Set up a drift where in the area where we limited out the last 2 days and the drift was almost 2 knts with a roaring current and wind in the same direction.
Had to use 8oz Bucktails and still had to let line out... got a couple of fish a drift and they were all quality fish in the 3-6lb range almost no shorts. Tuffed it out picking a dozen nice keepers until we stop getting bites.
It was the guys first time bucktailing and they did a great job despite the tough conditions.
Headed inshore and had lots of life but mostly shorts... picked another 6 keepers from the area.
By 11:30 the crew had 18 keepers in the box and we decided to check out some pieces for seabass in the area... Well we went to a bunch rockpiles that should be loaded this time of the year only to find some shorts and only a couple of keepers. Guess we cant have it all!!!
All in all a great day on the water!!!
By days end the guys boxed up 18 Keeper Fluke to 6 1/2 lbs and a couple of seabass n ling.
Kev and crew were a blast as always... looking forward to seeing them again for their fall trip!
Thanks again guys!!!
