Sykk Physh 7/1 Bluefin Absolutely Amazing
« on: July 02, 2011, 01:18:04 PM »

Ok Guys and Girls.. Well it was just as good as it gets being offshore..The crew made it to the boat before me and help load the boat..( Thanks Guys)

After fueling up (ouch) we broke the inlet and pointed east.. I really love my boat.. nice 33knots on autopilot at 345am and the guys were comfy in the bean bags..The water was flat calm and hardly any boat traffic at first light.. It always amazes me how fast it gets light on the water.. After about 40miles we saw life building ,, so gave it a try..The spread went out and the bluefish attacks,, Pull em in guys screw this .. pushed east!!

Finally we hit the grounds and reset the spread.. Then the dolphins appeared and everyone was watching the dolphins play on the bow.. Crrrack the 30 goes off FISH ON clear the spread!!   Bob snagged the rod and put the screws to the first Bluefin of the morning 6am fish in the box!!

We made a few moves again.. but no takers when I noticed the trawlers were done pulling their trawls.. Lines in pack away the gear and switch to jigs..

Now in minutes all hell broke loose.. I goot JRhunt, Wingshooter , Bob and Nick yelling HOOKED UP ,, Lost em HOOKED up.. At one point I had all the guys hooked into fish..

The guys work great together encouraging each on the boat. They help each with making sure each guys hooked and landed a Bluefin. They kept the cockpit open to move around the boat and made sure if we had a fish hooked up not to try to keep throwing lines back..Gotta give my hats Off to them..Great Work Guys!!

We went from one fish to 6 fish by 8 am.. Then we made a few moves again.  The mother load of Bluefins.. You could see bluefins following up jigs, baits and other hooked fish.. The fish went on the feed so hard that Bob hook a bluefin which not only ate his bait but anothers boats bait and a third boats bait.. Insane!!!

Well by 11am the guys were all smiling and were ready to head in .. Hell no ,,, these are days we all dream of!! So right back on the bite.. A few boats were not hooking so I reach out to a few guys on the radio and called them in.. I also handed some bait to a few boat who had nothing.. I believe in the good Karma thing!! So at the days end we hooked into 25 Bluefins and boat 20.. We managed our under and over fish.. I taped almost all the fish were beween 44inches and 51 inches .. But whats amazing is you can watch fish grab yourbaits and see bigger fish swimming by..

enjoy the pics and thanks to the crew for a unforgettable day on the water.
