Jelly type beads in the surf?

Anyone know what those clear beads like stuff is that is in the surf? Thanks!

They are squirts. They are not baby jellyfish. I believe they divide to multiply and only live a few weeks. They eat plankton and do not sting. Some claim they are the good guys of the ocean and help clean the water of excessive nutrients. Once the high food levels are gone they will be gone.

Salps. They don't sting but they make me itchy. They also seem to kill the fishing on the beach.

Yep right on the real name is salps. We called them squirts by the way the push through your toes. Not as fun as the moon jellies for throwing at each other but good for some fun. They claim those little suckers can cover some ground and are not that dependent on currents. Hard to believe when you see on up close.
