well decided last night late that i was going come hell or high water.... and we did get the water...lol.... isolated thunderstorms meant rain most of the day.... still managed a catch and had some serious laughs as always....
Report as written by my Bow Monkey.....
Bobber, LT, YA (young Anthony) and I fished Sunday.
Ocean - NOMOCO
bucktails, strip bait
We rounded Hook just ahead of a squall blowing thru the Raritan Bay, thank god for Sirius Weather... We started out fishing 8oz with the wind sock. Single bite/no comeback most of the morning. We hit the SAME spots they crushed them at yesterday with poor results. When we went in on the beach we managed 5 keepers but the ratio was at least 10 to 1 shorts/keepers in close. We worked our way deeper again, going as low as 2oz with no wind sock. We stayed out late as an afternoon bite started to happen but by then we all were tapped out. Soaked, rain wrinkled hands and it was just a long day.
We wound up with 20 keepers; 2 being a smidge shy of 5#. Catch was spread pretty even.
Chance of thunderstorms means rain all damn day long???
No matter how wet and tired you are...........when a bite starts happening, you just don't want to go home!!!
