Phyllis Ann - 7/5 Chicken Canyon
« on: July 05, 2011, 10:37:38 PM »
Long Day...

A good one...  But not for Fishing.  it was a tough one out there for most of the boats..

We went 0 fer 2..  Jason fought a beauty for about 5 minutes only to lose it in boat traffic fcp

Bob..   had Great fight going..  Until his drag decided to Freeze up..  and Snap ;D fcp

Those that did manage to hook up here and there..  also had a hard time completing the fight..  hum..  these weren't blues.. unless they weighed 100Lbs..

All in all still a fun trip.  with Great Friends and Beautiful Water.  Man is was cleaner than I ever seen.  couldn't believe there wasn't that much life out there.." Should have been there yesterday t^

Ride home was a tough one..  I think I shrunk 5 inches..

Nice talking to and seeing Capt. Joey G out there..

Nice talking to Capt. Brian.  also had a chat with Capt. Joe who was fluking as we were 55 miles out and heading home t^

155 mile for the Phyllis Ann today.  Burned 70 Gallons..  Not bad considering the seas and added weight and gear t^

Boat is topped off and will await her next trip t^

Great try guys.  Sounds like a great trip except for the ride back.  Next time will be the charm.   TT^

Hey nice day as I figure....

Jason is probably hooked on the offshore deal...
Bob gets to buy a new reel... ;D
The P/A got into some nice clean blue water...
and you had two solid hook ups...and back home ( maybe 5 inches shorter) in one piece.

Plus you can't beat the fuel burn,,,70gal on 155 miles t^ t^

Successful offshore trip in my book....

Bet your arse is tired thud

Nice trip Rod,,  Very fuel efficient if you ask me. t^  Too bad nothing was landed but at least  you got to fight 2 fish. I was out with Irish Ayes Joe and heard you guys on the Radio. John who was with us Hops on Capt.Brians boat a few times a year and has landed his personal best Striper with him. t^  Good luck next trip.

Great trip with a great crew.  Good times, even though we couldn't get some life on board.  Felt great just hooking into that beast.  Never had a fish peel line off a reel like that!  Big thanks to Rod for the trip.  The Phyllis-Ann was a solid vessel for the journey!   clp clp clp

I think that's maybe where we went wrong.  Rod asked me not to bring any bananas! >:( ;D

Actually, it was a terrific day despite the skunk.  Rod is an awesome host and a terrific captain!  He worked hard all day to try to get us on the fish.  Thanks buddy! clp

It was great to get out with Capt. Carl again (a fellow BBC member ;D).  After bait and jigging produced only two bites for us, Carl pulled out his big bucket of trolling toys and set out a nice spread to try to raise a fish or two.  It was a valiant effort, but it just wasn't our day for catching.

It was also fun fishing with Jason again and watching him hook into his first freight train BFT! TT^

As I said it really was a terrific day on the deep blue sea!  I hope we can get back out there again really soon! t^
