Used Boat Surveyor
« on: July 09, 2011, 09:55:44 PM »
Looking at used boat in Barnegat area.  How does getting a marine surveyor work to look at it before buying?  Can anyone reccomend one in this area?  How much does it usualy cost?  SOunds liek a good investment before buying though.

he did an outstanding job on my Grady.  He came very highly recommended and I wasn't disappointed..
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

To add someone in the mix, Maritime Matt took care of my cousin.  I don't think he did it himself but he recommended someone very good.

For a full in depth survey, I recommend Dunk from Bluewater Marine Surveying as well.
That said, I myself do boat/motor checkouts as well. I limit myself to what I specialize in and thats outboard powered boats, with an occasional stern drive when requested. I am not equipped to do moisture readings on hulls.
I'm always available to contact if your thinking of a potential boat and or motor purchase before you even think about going to see it.
