We got the tank today!!! chrz... i sanded it with 1200 wet/dry..I did it dry! wiped it down with clean dry cloth.Sprayed rubberized undercoating to all sides and bottom.Let dry about 2 hours(with lamps). Then cut to match noncarbon rubber strips.
i then applied 3m adhesive 4000 not 5200,same stuff, just a little weaker so in time you can remove whatever it is later!!! let dry.overnight.

I respect the gas and electric systems on boats as the utmost #1 safety issue you could have.. one fume leak, kick on the bilge! and BOOM!!

i did my research!this is the best way to install a replacement tank, step by step as i do it to my own(real time pictures) vessel"Ever Enough" in which i run 8-10 miles off the hook (in a 17 footer) all the time ..With the new tank i can and will go to the mud hole with my crew.
look for the completion pictures tomarrow of our new tank install!

"Ever Enough" will be fishing the ocean Saturday look for the fish pictures then..

Now that the strips dried over night on the tank. Its ready to be put in!First i prefitted it

Then applyed 4000 3m adhesive to the strips on the tank then put the tank in its location.

placed towels down and put cinder blocks on for weight.

in about 2 hours i will hook up the hose's(which are all NEW).Always replace/check the hose's when in stalling a new tank.Clean tank+dirty hose's=Dirty tank!!

the last picture is the old pickup hose up near the tank.kinda crappy

i will then hookup a new fuel/water seperating filter assembly. put my top straps on,silicone and screw the floor down hook every thing back up.Then tester out!!!!

looking good.

it is good practice to double clamp all of the fuel lines, not just the fill but also the vent and feed as well. also double clamps everywhere they lead to.

what is your tank capacity and how much did they charge to weld it up?
