Since noone grab a open boat Trip, I decide to go fishing since the forecast was 1ft or less. All I can say its tuna time.
Todays crew was Sonia, Ryan, John, Capt Dan and myself. Well after getting all the gear loaded we pushed off at 4am. The seas were pefect as soon as we broke the inlet.. We hit the grounds just after sunsrise and had a fish with in secs of the first drop.
Capt Dan came tight on a fish right away and the fish was a screamer... After a few minutes Bluefin in the box, nice 44 inch Fin.
Then we made a move and the new Tuna allstar Sonia came tight. All we here is "hey Ut OH",she fought the fish on her new Stella and put on a show for all of us. Next thing I know Capt Dan has in on the deck and she is grinning ear to ear..
Then we hit a slow few hrs with a few hits and misses. We put out a deep bait and slam the new Avet 30 orange goes off... I picked it up and the game was on!.. Few minutes and our just over fish hit the deck and we had 2 nice fish in the box. we reset a deep bait and few minutes later John is hooked up but comes unbutton..
After a hr or so of nothing, I decide to go looking and we found them. best part was we had them all to ourselves.. Again Capt Dan is tight within seconds, Soina is tight also then Ryan comes tight.. 3 hook ups in seconds.. Ryan comes unbutton and Dan put is on the deck.. Sonia is fighting a fish.. We get them on the deck and quick pics then released..
The finally John get hooked into a screamer of a fish..peeling line off and sounding numerous times before it got a photo shoot.. John tells me that it was his first tuna,, So another cherry Popped aboard the Sykk Physh.. So while the everyone is do around of congrats .. The Tuna Allstar Sonia is hooked up again.. and ask who wants it..Still in amazement, I help her fight and finish the fish for pics. This was not a good Idea because I got my balls busted for the rest of the trip.. Even better was the way she man handle the fish on deck for pics.. The woman has tuna in her blood now!!!
The we rest set and Ryan smashes one and the game was on .. few minutes after doing battle. Ryan is the movie star.. The finally after all of this I come tight on a jig.. Only to get my chomps busted by the entire crew during the entire fight.. So after missing a few a few dropping a few we put 10 fish on the deck on the Sykk Physh Keeping our Under and Over fish..Fish were caught on Stingo PBJs 150 and 200 in silver or on sardines deep on Avet 30EXs..we also caught a few on the new Stellas.. Well the Tuna Allstar caught a few on the stellas..
Ps.. I offered up a spot to a certain NJSWF website owner and developer... should have been onboard!!!
Call for trips guys is time!!
