On 8/2 I had the pleasure of having boat regular Ed and his wonderful wife out for a fun day of light tackle action. They wanted ocean action and were not concerned with bringing home to many fillets. We started out playing with short fluke in 40 ft off of IBSP. After about 30 minutes of fair action and an empty cooler
I asked them if they were interested in jigging up some seabass on a near shore wreck with the light trout rods. What a blast..its real hard on the tackle but loads of fun. 1 ounce jigs and drags screaming. After they boxed a dozen keepers seabass on the light stuff and released plenty of shorts we went back to playing with the fluke. Plenty of action just about anywhere on the sand. A few keepers here and there and plenty of laughs and smiles. Watching them trying to get 20 plus inch fluke out of 50ft of water with ultra lights had me smiling all day. After a real nice and fun day the 2 ultra light tackle anglers boxed 12 keeper seabass and 7 fluke to 23" and released LOTS of other fish.
