Fluke Rig
« on: August 07, 2007, 07:37:54 AM »
As anyone ever used this rig (or something similar) for fluke. Only thing I might change is use Octopus style hooks in place of the English hooks and replace the 3-way swivel with a swivel/fish finder set up. Otherwise it looks like a winner to me  t^

Skolmann How many do you want? I was given a bag full. My brother inlaw gave them a try on my boat, yes they will catch fish, if you get them to the bottom with out tangling, that was the biggest problem we ran into that the little holigraphic fish caused the bait to spin or the whole thing was retrieved with a tangled mess. After dealing wiht the tangle twice we gave up on them! Wasn't worth the aggravation. The ones I have only have 1 hook at the end of the leader.

Skip, was there a drift when you used them.  If not, then pretty much any rig like that would tangle.  With a decent drift, it seems that it should be ok.
