Kill Van Kull 9-29-11
« on: September 29, 2011, 08:58:28 PM »
Went fishing in downtown Bayonne tonight for a little under an hour. Got there around sunset and stayed til around 8. I was chunking bunker and like last night I kept getting crabs. Then around 7:30 I hooked up with a fish. I thought I had my first striper of the season, but no. I pulled in what I think is an american eel, can someone confirm this. It wasn't a baby either at 29". Then on my last chunk I again hooked up with a fish, it didn't feel as big as the first one and I don't know what it even was cause it spit the hook before I got a look at it.

It's an eel, you caught it in America, that makes it either an American Eel or... an Undocumented Eel.

Nice rod holder on the piling, did you install it there? <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Can't take credit for that one. I usually bring my own and tie it on but that one was already there.

Sure looks like an american eel to me. I have seen more than my share of those slimmy buggers on the end of my line caught in the rivers out my way.
