Spencer Canyon Report
« on: October 24, 2011, 12:00:22 PM »
Left the dock at 0900 hrs sharp, the weather and water temp for that area looked great. Got to the fishing grounds around 1400 hrs. Started trolling first with a couple yellow fins between 30 lbs. and 60 lbs. The action died down so Capt. decided to anchor up and start chumming. In a short amount of time more tuna at the same weights. We put a few poles out for sword fish and before you know it we are hooked up, so it was my turn on the pole and i caught my first bill fish about a 100 + lbs. Set the poles out again we had another hook up on sword pole but the difference this time it is BIG ! Went threw the crew twice this time with belts and harnesses. To make a long story short 2 hrs later the line went limp. The Capt. felt it was probably a triple marker....... Off to fight another day. The total for the trip 8 yellow fins and 1 sword fish. Had a great time cant wait to hit it again. ( waiting on pics. of tuna from friend will post when I receive)
