Sandy Hook Striper Report Fri 10/28
« on: October 28, 2011, 02:39:26 PM »
Finally got the famous Uncle Luna out today for his donated NJSWF trip for stripers. With our last trips results we had some high expectations today....left highlands in a honking nw wind blowin 20 and got to the grounds around 7:30. Incoming tide we were marking a ton of fish but bites were limited and we ground it out until the tide changed...which took forever and a day....on the outgoing, we marked the fish and we had numerous hits and runs but we just couldnt come tight on them today....Lenny boating the only bass of the day at 30 inches and a bluefish about 12 lbs. We tried like hell, the fish are there...we just couldnt hit the homerun today.
Thanks for coming Uncle Luna....pleasure having you guys aboard today!

Leaving at 6 pm for round two!

Thanks again captain Carl, was a pleasure to fish with you today, and a great mate Matt you have on board. Like you stated above it was not for a lack of effort on your part you tried like hell to get those fish to turn on! May arm is sore from you telling us to pull em in and moving from spot to spot. Still it was nice to be out on the water today
with those winds it was not so bad anyway.
Matt thank you for the tip on hooking those fish using eels  ;D

Nice job Guys,, Tough day for us too, 2 bluefish and a short Striper.  Thankfully the wind died down in the afternoon.
