Tuna Tales Monday Halloween Bass, Blackfish, Bluefish
« on: October 31, 2011, 08:08:26 PM »
Fished with Jim and Eric today. Had to scrape some ice off the boat windshield in the frosty morning. Broke the inlet at 7 am...flat calm ocean

Got set up on the tog fishing. Nice steady bite...caught a released 40+ blackfish to 6 lbs. Eric lost a nice one.

While blackfishing, I put on a whole green crab and had a huge bite...I am thinking big tog...all of a sudden the fish took me under my props and started coming up to the surface - I am thinking striper! Sure enough Jim got the net and we boated a 39" (20 lb striper) on a very light rod. Very cool.

After blackfishing went on the troll for an hour and only bluefish on spoons.

Great friends, fishing and weather.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
