Fueling stations
« on: November 02, 2011, 01:34:50 PM »
It looks like Pederson's in Keyport is shut down due to issues with their pumps  :headscra:

I am looking to go out tomorrow after work, but I am very low on fuel and by the looks of the tide charts I won't be able to fit under the Amboy bridge to go to KMB or Wagners.  Any other nearby options without having to go to the Highlands?

Vikings has a fuel dock not sure what their hours are.

High tide is not highhigh like it was lastweek (it's like 2' lower) depending on what time "after work" is you should fit.....

I hate that bridge....

I do too!  I thought I heard there was one at Monmouth cove, but not sure.  Dead high tide is 2:50, I usually get down there at 5 and would obviously have to be there by 6 (more like 5:45 lately).  I have a fixed arch with radar, so I really don't have alot of play to get under there.  One time I tried, scraped the top of the radar but still made it without damage, only to find both fuel docks closed and it was 5:45.

As a last resort several of the gas docks in the Highlands have pay at the pump 7x24.  You might even want to try to drift some eels in the river while you are there.  Good Luck.

When I slipped n Woodbridge Marina, I used to go to Al Browns on Morgan Creek for my fuel. He had 89 Octane for the price everyone else had 87 for.

Lentz has a fuel dock now?  I was considering slipping there before settling on Brown's.  They told me the closest one to them was Pederson's or Monmouth cove.  I made it under the bridge last night by the skin of my teeth.  I had less than an inch clearance over my radar.   cfzd

No fuel at Lentze's.. I do believe there is Gas available at the marina across creek from them ( left thru the gate) although I don't know the name.. I know they don't sell diesel so I never stopped there.  chrz
