Neighbor saved by CPR TODAY!!!

I was outside winterizing the "Peggy Lee" this morning when a  neighbor comes over a we talk about boating and fishing  for 10 minutes.
He walks back to his front lawn to "do some leaf clean up" with the leaf blower.The leaf blower shuts  down ...I think to my self that's weird.
I hear some very strange sounds from his direction and there he is stretched out on the lawn...
 I Run over , check his pulse and immediately determine he is failing fast and not breathing either!!!He is 6'2 and aprox 300lbs.
I start CPR and keep yelling for Help.Help Help!! I call 911 from my cell in between compressons and breaths, hoping some one in the neighborhood hears me yelling help!!
I'm on him for at least 12-14 minutes with the help of other good  neighbors and the Police and  Medics come and SHOCK him three times  with the Fib.to get some life.All the time Im clearing his breathing path with my fingers. They rush him to the Hospital ...the last I heard he is going to make it.Please say a prayer for him and his wife(I could use a prayer too).
Please, if you have the opportunity LEARN CPR.
Its late ...had a few shots of scotch...but still can't sleep.

Its the unexpected things in life that makes our existence here worth while.  AJ, your just being there, was in my mind, no coincidence. 

CPR is such an easy thing to learn and in our sport I urge everyone to take a class and learn the simple techniques that might even save your life one day.

Great job reacting and saving your neighbors life AJ !!

I did EMS for many years and taught CPR.  I always stressed when teaching CPR to non responders(everyday, ordinary people) that they would be the ones making the difference and saving a life.  5-10 minutes for Police, Fire or EMS to respond can be too long!

Like has been said, CPR is simple to learn.  Getting someone to react like AJ, is not always that easy!

Just got back from the Hospital 1:30pm.Sunday.
He is doing fine and has more people and attention from the nurses than you can imagine.
He's is smiling from ear to ear and will be moved by ambulance tomorrow to Deborah.
He wanted  to introduce me to the others...I kindly asked that he not...I stayed less than 10 minutes, as I slipped in and out of the hospital. We exchanged some deep meaningful words.
