8/12 Pop's Soul
« on: August 12, 2007, 08:41:35 PM »
Left the dock at 10:30 after discussing some engine issues with the marina mechanic. Headed for the Klondike, with a few other boats on the scene, little bit of a breeze and strong current, water temp 74 degrees, fishing 64 to 72 feet of water. With a slow drift the wife picked up a large skate, plus a couple of other lazy bites, we made a move just north of Sea Girt Reef, "Shark Ledge" came up on my GPS I do not remember entering that on my unit, must be on the mapping software but the bottom looked intresting to me, came across one lump and started getting hits, 3 rods, 3 short fish. Made 3 more drifts over the area all with the same results, NO KEEPERS.  Sea Girt Reef was a virtual parking lot of boats! Made a drift through and did not see anyone having any action, including us. Moved into Spring Lake with a nice drift Started picking up fish on our Variety of baits, which all produced shorts except for one keeper of 20 inches in 45 feet of water. All and all a nice day on the water.........

Yea I know Joe, I usually ride home saying to myself what I should have done. Drew will be home Friday for 10 days, so I sure I will have to find you so he can TRY to bust your stones over that missed fish that time on the Irish Ayes, and everytime he goes out he is still trying to find it! SO I will have lots of time on the water plus lots of posting to do starting the 18th through the 28th and I am on Vacation TT^
