Luna Seas Report, August 14, 2007

Had fellow members on the boat today, Pataske (Nick), and Brijones (Brian) for a nice day of fluke.  Started out netting all the bunker you need, and then some.  Worked our way to my favorite spot only to produce 4 keeper fluke and about 4 keeper seabass.  This was Brians first experience fishing for Seabass.  Then we made a trip to the Ambrose after that and caught Brians one and only Fluke for today, but it was a beauty at 24" and very thick.  So, the day ended with 5 keeper fluke, 4 Seabass, and a bunch of Searobins today.  Not too many other junk fish, just the birds.

As we finished cleaning the boat and the fish, Brian mentioned that he wants to learn to throw a net.  I showed him with my 8'er and he perfected it very quick and while practicing off the dock, he scored thousands of peanut bunker...  Figures after the day was over... lol..  That was the highlight of the trip except for seeing the truck floating in the water at the ramp.. that takes a close second.

Thanks again Nick for a great day on the water  TT^ .  I gave Mister Penguin (chris) some peanut bunker for his trip on the Angler tonight(bass/fluke).  Hopefully he has another sucessful trip like last time.  I tie my own rigs for fluke and experimented today with my teaser tied with a second hook extended back.  Main hook was a 4/0 circle with a 1/0 trailer hook.  It worked well with a majority of the fish caught on the second hook.  I had my fluke and sea bass dinner already and have to say that sea bass taste fantastic, better than fluke.
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

Great day Nick.  That's a great picture of the truck.  That needed to be spoken for since you took it.  I add us and you to the picture in case anyone uses it t^

Sounds and looks like a great day was had by all, except the guy who owns the truck.  WOW, I hope he has a good story ready for the wife. :P

Happy Catching

Great day with the guys out there and kudos to Nick opening up his boat! Glad Brian (hereafter known as the King of Fluke Bullets™) scored a nice one after we had a couple false alarms with skates. Nick is a master with the net and a great guy. It was my first time at the Rocks. Sorry again for having to make that early trip in...but hopefully it set you up for that big flukie. :-\

That truck doesn't surprise me. We took a couple passes with the seine on that ramp before we left. I almost ended up in the deep end too. Usually you get some grip on the concrete but this had NONE. Like oil.
