Metal Chain Umbrella Rig Leaders?

Several weeks ago I saw someone with an umbrella rig soaking in a bucket of water to rinse off the salt. On his rig he had metal leaders (for lack of a better word). These were not wire but more like chain pulls from a ceiling fan or the attachments for sash weights from older windows.

Has anyone seen these before? It seems like it would be a good way to keep your jigs from getting tangled vs standard mono, especially if they were looped in a prepackaged bag.

Fred,  what I think you are describing are "bead-chain swivels".  A google search will yield many tackle dealers who sell them.   I think Tony Maja (sponsor) has them.  I had good success this year with an old umbrella rig I found in my basement which had bead chains instead of mono.  I just put new tubes on and it work great.  Good luck.

Thats it! Is there a benefit to using these over mono leaders or just wire leader?

I think you still use the leader.. these just add to the weight...
