cod , ling and blackfish rigs

Going to hit one of the PB's out of AHMM Tuesday. Have never done this on a PB and was wondering how everybody has there rigs set up? I do well with a hi low rig with 4 octi's for blackfish. Should I just stick with that? Thanks.

Sounds good to me.

I usually use 3/0 Gam. Octi's but 4/0 should be fine.

Low rig as you would for blackfish.
High rig with very short leader for Cod seems to be what I have seen work for some.

Adding a little color (green) for the ling also have seen done.

Heavy weights to stay on the bottom and keep your line from wondering into your neighbor also helps and not bad to suggest to your neighbors if they drift into your space if they are fishing too lite to beef up.

Also, the best advise is not to be shy, and ask the mates to show you their favorite rigs, as they are out there every day.

I like a 2/0 or 3/0 gammi....12 in leader....bottom gammi snelled then a 2nd slider hook on same leader. Connect rig right above the sinker.

When there are ling about I like a 1/0 baitholder on a short leader (6") as close to the sinker as possible. Ling have smaller mouths so you will get better hookups and the baitholders are stout enough you shouldn't straighten out the hook if you tangle with something bigger.
 
Then 24" to 36" up I put a 4/0 baitholder again on a short leader. You can add a grub or tube or some color for the cod and such. If there are a lot of doggies around just use a plain hook.

I normally fish 50lb braid and with a rods length top shot. For this deep water (150+ ft)fishing I wuss out and connect my brain and top shot with a 75lb swivel.

Can't picture your rig. Bottom hook then a slider hook?

snelled hook on a 12" leader on that leader put a slider via a loop

If Carl does the same as I do...snell a hook on the end of the leader then slip the leader thru the eye of a second hook with out tying it, the second hook will slide up and down the leader. Can't come off because of the snelled hook at the end of the leader. You can adjust the second hook as needed to attach to a larger bait.
