Ontario Salmon Tourney......

I know of a few guys on here who hit Ontario for Kings.

My crew got the invite for the 1st Atommik Flies Invitational out of Oswego in August.

Figure I'd give a heads up.  We placed 2nd and 3rd in the Fair Haven Challenge over the last few years. Hopefully a first place finish is in the cards for us this summer!

fishES.....combined weight of 6 salmon. Takes the luck out of landing just one big fish and rewards consistency.  Anyone can catch one "big one"  takes skill to put together 6 nice fish  (at least thats what the crew tells each other!!!!!!... )

Story...2 years ago we placed 2nd in the Fairhaven Tourney, lost 1st by 1.1 oz.  Combined weight of 4 fish.  Morning after the tourney and after fighting a 2nd place celebration hangover, decided to get 2 more hours fishing before driving back to NJ. 

First line of a 10 rod spread goes in the drink and gets nailed in seconds........we land a 33lb King that bested the tourneys BIGGEST fish by 2 lbs from the day before!!!!!   

Stood on deck staring at it, screaming WTF WERE YOU YESTERDAY!!!!!!   Released alive, had a few 6am beers and headed home w/o putting any more rods in...

6 years ago was my first trip tp lake O. I was on my buddys boat and the rod goes off. Grab it, set, look down at line counter, 945. FML. BOAT the beast 30 minutes later. 38 lbs. Didnt even know where of LOC then. I usually make 6-7a trips a year there now. Went in march slammed the brownies and kings already. It was great.
