LIFE AFTER FLUKE SEASON

Ok The end of the fluke season is closeing in on us fast. Were all seeing these banner catches and we hate to see it end. What is everyone plannig to fish for Blues, Seabass, Croakers, Weakfish, Porgy's, Mud Hole Tuna,
1 Blackfish or is everyone going to save their gas for the Striper run ?? Inquiering minds want to know!

Unless there is a nice September run of Raritan Bay weakfish, I usually don't do much fishing that month.

I'll make a few sea bass trips in early/mid October but switch over to striper/bluefish jigging by the end of the month. Not opposed to dropping 'snakes' then either.

I'll continue jigging into November/December. As much as I love to blackfish, for whatever reason I only do 1 trip-seems as if my love of jigging supercedes crab dunking. I always promise myself that I'll balance the 2 out but it never seems to occur. Maybe this year   .

I also tell myself that this is the year that I'm going to do some offshore sea bassing but so far I haven't done that either.

Did take my first togging trip down in Delaware last January and would definitely like to do another 2-4 trisp this coming winter.

I used to love bow hunting more than anything But my heart has not been into it for a couple of years. I am absolutly addicted to the salt now.. When fluke season ends I will attempt to see if a can rekindle some of that passion for bow hunting but i know there is still plenty of fishing out there, Sea bass, Fall Stripers, And definatly black fish, I have never targeted them and from from everything I hear they are a challange and alot of fun to fish for so I am really looking forward to fishing for them..Then  trout, Some crappie fishing and of course spring flounder and stripers..and hopefully before you know it, fluke agian..

Oh and I complete forgot about Tuna with Avid on Sept 22nd. REALLY looking forward to this trip..

Arty I Think I need another season of "jumping" under my belt before I buy a boat Plus there a couple of saftey courses and other boating courses I want to take.. Sam is going to one that I think I will be joining him on..

Whatever is running within a mile or so of shore or inside of bay until mid-end of oct weather providing. Then I am reduced to watching fishing on TV until I have to get boat ready in April.

I wouldnt mind it if we had a flounder season here in nj but we dont and I am not that into the bass fishing this year

i like the sping run for the stripers , by this time i am getting ready for ice fishing , to much to do and no time

I used to enjoy the fall striper run but these last few years have been disappointing.  In our area (Manasquan Inlet) it seems the fish are staying off shore on the migration south.  Once the blackfish season starts I will be jumping on the Mimi II with Capt Kenny most Wednesdays he has open boat for blackfish.  I plan a trip each winter or spring.  This year I’m not sure if it is going to be Zihuatanejo, Mexico for Pacific Sailfish or the Keys for Tarpon.  I also bow hunt for deer during the fall and winter.  So much to do but not enough time.

I'll fish inshore for the croakers and blues, and some off shore tuna if weather permitting till it's time to take the boat down to Cape May for the Striper run.
