Winter Flounder is Floundering??
« on: April 13, 2012, 10:05:11 PM »
Greetings,

Is there no one fishing for flounder? All I hear about is stripers!(not that there is anything wrong with that!).

I fish the Barnegat Bay ,Manasquan River and Shark River for flounder. The mild winter that we had this year had the flounder active for most of the winter. They spawned and left the inside waters very early this year. There are still opportunities to catch them in the ocean but targeting them is hard. Some are being caught as a bycatch while targeting ling, tog and seabass later on in the season.

I am going out in Manasquan tomorrow to look for them. Will have the wife and kids (3 and 5) with me and the ocean forecast isn't that great so, I hope we catch them just for the fun of it.

sand worms
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

sand worms

Do you know any B&T's in the area that would have them?
