My Son Drew who is home from Maine for 10 days and his 2 friends Matt, and Krystal in town from New Hampshire planned on diving and fishing while they were here. With Wedsensday being our planned trip and the couple leaving on Thursday we made the most of the day by diving in the murky back bay of Shark River and fishing the inlet. The kids found some old empty bottles on the bottom and brought them up only to find that an old 7 ounce beer bottle can start off some growth with Coral attached to the beer bottle and worms living on the inside of it. After that we moved to the inlet side of the bridges for some fishing in the drizzle of rain. With several shorts being caught on GULP on a plain hook, and yes there are still keepers in the river, we had 1 keeper of 18 inches caught by my younger son Robert. The highlight of the day was Matt catching his FIRST FISH EVER
a short fluke and then didn't want to leave until he caught another which he did
Water temp was 66 degrees and MURKY.
