Wednesday Fluke Report-A little late
« on: May 25, 2012, 05:05:17 PM »
Had Jim Zimmer and John Toth of Saltwater Anglers of Bergen County out for a morning of Fluke fishing and we were not disappointed in the results. Fished various locations around the lower Reach channel locations. Jim, John and the other anglers from the fishing club sure know how to bucktail for Fluke. Our 4 man charter totaled 24 fish caught...7 keepers with two fish hitting the 5.3 lb and 4.4 lb mark. Not too shabby for this early in the season!

And the best part about it nobody was around us during perfect drifting conditions. Bucktailing 3 and 4 ounce Spro's adorned with various Gulp Alive products in a 1.2 kt to 1.6 kt drift speed. Right where I like it.. Way to go guys, I'm very proud of you and how fast you all picked up the bucktailing method.

As an added highlight we watched warship after warship pass us on the horizon heading for New York Harbor's upcoming Memorial Day festivities. If you're interested in joining a top-notch fishing club, then let me recommend the Saltwater Anglers of Bergen County. I've attended a few of their meetings giving Fluke seminars and they are very organized and community minded I may add. Come to one meeting as a guest and you'll be very impressed....I was!
