furnace lake
« on: May 28, 2012, 07:37:20 PM »
well, got skunked flukin yesterday so brother in law and i decide to do a little freshwater fishing up at furnace lake this morning.  slow go from about 6 till 10 with nothin to show except for a smaller perch that got off the hook as I was bringing him in the boat and my brother in law pulled a small bass on a soft plastic. between eleven and twelve we pulled in three bass between us all of decent size (2-3#). He was throwing a large spinnerbait and I was tossing a square billed crank. we were workin the lures in about six feet of water loaded with tall hydrilla.  Was fun reeling those bass in through the weeds.  We also had a few hits but missed setting the hook.  Great time on the water.  Unfortunately, the boss (aka my wife) gave the 12 curfew today and I had to leave just when the fishing seemed to start turning up.  hey there is always next time. ;D
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
